The planned area is located on the north side of the Guihualin Back Street. The Punan Expressway runs through the planned area and the north-south boundary is the mountain boundary. Its total planned area reaches 99.8 hectares (1497 mu). The planned area is adjacent to the “Urban Living Room” Planned Area centered on the municipal administrative center – “Back Garden of the City” in the central urban area. The planned area is classified as Class II in the Technical Guidelines for Mountainous Urban Planning and Management of Wuyi New Area (Trial).
Nanping City will be built as a sponge city with favorable water environment and landscape belt of water corridor and water hall. Jianyang central urban area will be built with the theme of water and a reservoir will be built as a water supply facility. This plan makes full use of mountain and water resources and carries out the verification of land development so as to achieve economic balance. Therefore, we summarize the characteristics of valuable experience for the construction of mountainous cities and conduct the research in the characteristics of various mountainous cities. This pilot program functions as a guideline for the planning of mountain city and verify how the plan provide guidance for the program.
