A native of Taipei City, he has lived and worked in Beijing for more than 20 years. After graduating from the Department of Architecture National Taipei University of Technology in 1992, he graduated from the Southern California Institute of Architecture with a master's degree in architecture from 1994 to 2000, and a doctorate in art history from the Central Academy of Art Theory. Since 1994, he has been engaged in interdisciplinary teaching in architectural design, creative science, cross-border art and design creation, new media and video art at the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. As a presiding researcher at the Institute of International Architecture and Environmental Art of Tsinghua University, and a deputy director of the Cultural and Creative Industry Center of the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, he has been a well-known planner of the theory and practice “production and research integration” of cross-strait cultural and creative industries.

He once served as the planning institute, vice president and planning director of China Construction Design Group; chief architect of the Institute of International Architecture and Environmental Art of Tsinghua University; professor of the Department of Environmental Art of the Central Academy of Fine Arts; professor of the School of Urban Design of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is currently the deputy dean and professor of the Institute of Urban Design and Innovation of the Central Academy of Fine Arts; the University of the School Planning and Development Center of the Ministry of Education, the chief planner of the University; the School Planning and Development Center of the Ministry of Education, the Bachelor's Innovation Workstation, and the Chief Planning Officer; Tsinghua University Researcher at the Institute of Cultural and Economic Research.
